PUEBLO, Colo. - The UT Dallas women's golf team wrapped up the Southern Colorado Open at Walking Stick Golf Course on Tuesday with a second-place finish. The Comets shot a 295-298=593 (+17) and were five shots off the lead.
The host #34 CSU Pueblo won the 15-team event with a 588 (+12). MSU Billings, #49 Texas A&M International and Colorado Christian each tied for third with a 607 (+31).
Freshman
Camilah Porras led the field with 30 pars and was one shot off the lead with a third-place finish. She was even with a 72-72=144 and three birdies. Sophomore
Brooke Yount took fourth place with a 73-72=145 (+1) and seven birdies.
Carla van Remmen shot a 74-75=149 (+5) with five birdies and tied for ninth.
Syrah Javed tied for 39th with a 76-82=158 (+14) and made three birdies and an eagle. Junior
Hayden Trost tied for 45th with an 81-79=160 (+16).
UTD's 593 was the third-best 36-hole score in program history. Porras tied for the sixth-best two-round score.
The Comets will wrap up the 2025-26 season at the Lone Star Conference Championship in Rockwall, Texas, beginning April 13.
