DALLAS - The UT Dallas track & field teams kicked off the SMU Invite at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium with three new school records on Friday evening.
Freshman
Saniya Bosby improved upon her own school record in the long jump, clearing 5.68 meters (18 ft.-7.75 in.) and placing eighth.
Sophomore
Alexia Callahan bested her own mark by nearly two seconds with a 5,000-meter time of 18:38.71. She finished 12th. Freshman
E'Mon Mason was UTD's top finisher in the 200 in 25.19 seconds.
For the Comet men, freshman
Blake Rippy broke his own long jump record with an 11th-place finish at 6.72 meters (22 ft.-.75 in.).
Junior
Frank Douglas placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:56.76, a season-best time. Graduate student
Ethan Turner recorded a PR at UTD in the 5,000 in 15:27.19 and finished sixth.
Freshman
Jay Hicks took eighth with a 200-meter dash time of 21.62 seconds.
The Comets will wrap up the SMU Invite on Saturday with field events beginning at 8:30 a.m. and running starting at noon.
