TYLER, TX (10.30.10) – UTD's
Daniel Ludwig took third place Saturday morning at the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championship Meet run on the campus of UT Tyler, one of the top finishes ever for a UTD runner.
The Top 7 finish earned the Comet freshman First Team All-ASC honors.
Ludwig finished third in the race with an unofficial time of 26:54.38 in the 8K championship race, and teammate
Alex Rojas took 23rd place in the field of almost 80 runners with a 29:21.38. As a team, the UTD men finished in eighth place in the 12-team field.
On the women's side, UTD's
Christine Cepelak recorded the Comets' best time with a 27:37.65 in the 6K race, placing 41st.
Prachi Jean, who won the ASC Sportsmanship Award for the women's racers, took 55th place with a 29:31.62.
Official results for the race were delayed for almost a week due to timing problems at the event. FINAL RESULTS HAVE NOW BEEN POSTED.
UT Tyler won the men's team title followed by the University of the Ozarks. In the women's division, the team title went to Hardin-Simmons followed by Texas Lutheran.
