Box Score PINEVILLE, LA (03.02.18) - The UT Dallas baseball team picked up its eighth straight victory Friday night as the Comets opened a three-game American Southwest Conference series with a 5-2 victory over the Wildcats.
Jamie Andriot (3-1) picked up the win for the Comets (8-4, 4-0 ASC) as he fanned 12 LC batters in 7.0 innings of work.
Michael Deacon tossed a scoreless 8th while
Garrett Hale retired the Wildcats in order in the 9th for his fourth save of the season.
Down 2-0 in the 3rd, the Comets used three extra-hits to take a 3-2 lead. After a lead-off double by
Isaiah Swann,
Ryan Burciaga got UTD on the board with a double to right, brining moved Swann to third. After a sac fly by
Barry Casey, the Comets took the lead on a two-run long ball by
Connor Scruggs, his second of the season.
UTD then added a run each in the 4th and 5th innings to pull away for the win. In the 4th, Swann used his second double of then night to plate
Garrett Uhl.
Thomas Craig would then draw a bases-loaded walk in the 5th for the final run.
Swann and Uhl were each 2-for-4 while Casey was 2-for-3.

The two teams will complete their three-game series on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
