GREENSBORO, N.C. - The UT Dallas middle infield tandem of Albert Garza and Jake Amoroso was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association South Central Region All-Defensive Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

Garza, a graduate student second baseman from Santa Fe, Texas, was perfect on 154 chances, recording 65 putouts with 89 assists. He also turned 23 double plays. Garza was an All-Lone Star Conference Third Team and LSC All-Defensive Team selection. 

Amoroso, a junior shortstop from Austin, Texas, started all 50 games for the Comets, posting a .973 fielding percentage. He recorded 58 putouts, 125 assists and only five errors, while turning 32 double plays. Amoroso was also an All-LSC Third Team and All-Defensive Team pick.

UTD completed its first season in the Lone Star in fourth place with a 33-17 record. The Comets led the league with a .973 fielding percentage as a team.
