RICHARDSON, Texas - Two student-athletes from UT Dallas were selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-South Central Region Teams on Thursday.

Junior outfielder Chris Benavidez was named to the First Team and sophomore designated hitter Kole Kinnison was on the Second Team.

Benavidez, from Bryan, Texas, was the Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year and an All-LSC First Team pick. He led UTD with a .418 average, recording 66 hits, 42 runs, 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 49 RBI, 35 walks and three stolen bases. 

Kinnison, from San Antonio, Texas, was also an All-LSC First Team selection. He hit .358 on 58 hits, 44 runs, 12 doubles, six home runs, 54 RBI, 24 walks and five stolen bases. He also led the league with a school record 13 sacrifice flies.

The Comets completed their first year in the LSC by going 33-17 and finishing in fourth place.
