GREENSOBORO, N.C. - Two student-athletes from UT Dallas were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-South Central Region First Team on Wednesday.

Chris Benavidez and senior outfielder
Trent McCown were each honored by the organization.
Benavidez, from Bryan, Texas, was the Lone Star Conference Newcomer of the Year, an All-LSC First Team pick and a NCBWA All-South Region First Team selection. He led UTD with a .418 average, recording 66 hits, 42 runs, 15 doubles, 10 home runs, 49 RBI, 35 walks and three stolen bases. Benavidez ranked second in the Lone Star Conference in batting average and slugging percentage (.715).
McCown, from Wylie, Texas, led the LSC with 16 home runs and was third with a .708 slugging percentage. He also hit .345 on 59 hits, 51 runs, 14 doubles, 59 RBI, 29 walks and a .708 slugging percentage. McCown was an All-LSC Second Team honoree.
The Comets completed their first year in the LSC by going 33-17 and finishing in fourth place.
