RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas senior catcher Nico Fernandez and graduate student reliever Tag Pacot were named to the 2026 Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must carry a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and play in 90 percent of games, start in 66 percent of games or pitch 35 innings.
Fernandez, from Cypress, Texas, earned Academic All-District honors for the third time. He hit .360 with 64 hits, 50 runs scored, 13 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 54 RBI, 39 walks and five stolen bases. He also threw out 13 runners trying to steal, for a rate of 20.6 percent. Fernandez was an All-Lone Star Conference Second Team, LSC All-Defensive Team and LSC All-Academic Team selection, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Pacot, from Rockwall, Texas, earns Academic All-District honors for the second time in his career. He led the LSC with eight saves in the regular season and recorded a 3.55 earned run average, with a 2-3 record and 37 strikeouts over 33 innings. Pacot held opposing batters to a .195 batting average. He was a LSC All-Academic Team selection while studying Applied Cognition and Neuroscience.
