RICHARDSON, TX (02.25.21) - The long-awaited arrival of UT Dallas' newest athletic program is here as the Comet track & field teams will officially open competition this Saturday at the Hardin-Simmons Invite in Abilene.

Danielle Kcholi, who is in her third season as the Comets' head cross country coach as well, is excited about making the transition and looks forward to the track & field squad to soon have the same success as her cross country teams. The UTD men's cross country squad is currently the reigning back-to-back defending American Southwest Conference champions while the Comet women claimed the ASC title in 2016 and 2017.
PRESEASON INTERVIEW WITH DANIELLE KCHOLI
Only male sprinters will run in the Comet's initial meet as the UTD cross country teams are still preparing for the ASC Championships next Wednesday, Mar. 3. The men and women will then complete Mar. 5-6 at the Trinity Invite in San Antonio. In total, Kcholi has six regular-season meets slated before sending her teams to the ASC Track & Field Championships, Apr. 29-May 1 in Jackson, Miss. For a full schedule, click
