NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The UT Dallas track & field team broke five records on Friday during the first full day at the Carl Kight Invitational & Multi hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
Freshman
Nick Hofer broke three records while competing in the men's decathlon. He finished eighth in the decathlon with a new record of 5,378 points, besting the old mark by 736. As part of the decathlon, Hofer set a new school record in the high jump at 1.88 meters (6 ft.-2 in.) and the pole vault, clearing 3.55 meters (11 ft.-7.75 in.).
Graduate student
Ethan Turner finished fourth in the 10,000 meters in 32:08.05, breaking the old record by more than four seconds.Â

Chisom Mbah broke her own shot put record with a throw of 11.48 meters (37 ft.-8 in.), placing 14th overall.
Sophomore
Emma Foyt-Gade took 11th with a javelin throw of 20.87 meters (68 ft.-6 in.) and sophomore
Ellie Suo-Anttila led the Comets with a time of 5:08.26 in the 1,500 meters, finishing 34th.Â
The final day of the meet will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
