Nick Hofer was selected as the American Southwest Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Hofer, from Broomfield, Colo., broke three school records while placing eighth in the decathlon at the Carl Kight Invitational & Multi on Thursday and Friday. He bested the decathlon record with 5,378 points for the top mark in the ASC this season. Hofer also broke the school record in the high jump, clearing 1.88 meters (6 ft.-2 in.), and the pole vault at 3.55 meters (11 ft.-7.75 in.). In the decathlon field, Hofer had the best 1,500-meter time of 4:36.42
The Comets will wrap up the season at the SMU Invite on Saturday, May 3.
