ABILENE, TX (03.20.21) - The UT Dallas men's and women's track & field programs returned to action Friday and Saturday as the Comets competed at the Wes Kittley Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division I Abilene Christian.
Freshman
Graeme Maclean bested his school record in the 1,500-meter run Friday night, placing third in the NCAA D-I heavy field with a time of 4:03.04. Maclean also posted a personal best in the 800-meter run on Saturday at 1:58.09.
Griffin Davis also set a new program standard in the 5,000-meter run Friday night as well, recording a time of 15:50.27 in the event.
Devan Bailey recorded a time of 16:17.00 in the event while
Andres Uriegas finished in 16:21.59.
In other men's middle distance events,
Justin Ardis had a time of 2:01.90 in the 800-meter run. Davis (4:20.93), Ardis (4:24.84), Bailey (4:26.51) and Uriegas (4:32.65) also completed in the 1,500.
Sprinter
Muaaz Makda posted a time of 23.16 in the 200-meter dash and ran a 50.49 in the 400-meter dash.Â
On the women's side,
Rachel Kahler recorded a time of 6:04.58 in the 1,500.
The Comets will next compete at the East Texas Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday, Apr. 10.
