LONGVIEW, TX (09.04.21) - The UT Dallas men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2021 fall season Saturday morning with top finishes at the Nicole Leman Invite, hosted by LeTourneau University.
The Comet men kicked of the fall with a first-place team victory while the UTD women placed second in their field.

The men's squad finished with 28 points in the event, placing six runners among the top 12 placers.
Devan Bailey finished second overall in the 49-runner field, recording a time of 16:07.7 in the five-kilometer race.
Griffin Davis was third at 16:12.8,
Trent Sakakini fifth at 16:23.6 and
Ethan Conville rounded out the Comets in the top 10 in eighth place at 16:40.7.
Jayden Chambless placed 11th at 16:53.4 to complete the scoring Comets while
Rohan Springer was 12th at 16:59.8 and
Nathaniel Brim was 16th at 17:14.5.
For the women,
Maddie Ellis was the Comets' top placer, finishing third among the 39-runner field. Ellis posted a time of 20:52.9 in the five-kilometer race.
Hannah Bennett placed fourth at 21:16.3,
Julie Bull fifth at 21:19.4,
Madylin Herrera ninth at 21:49.0 and
Rebecca Betanzo completed the Comet scorers in 13th place at 22:32.1.
Hannah Flake was 14th at 22:32.4 and
Rachel Kahler 22nd at 23:17.1
The Comets return to action Friday, Sep. 10, at a meet hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce.
