Trent Sakakini and
Christian Pack traveled South this weekend to compete in a pair of meets hosted by NCAA D-I institutions.
Sakakini opened the weekend by competing in the 1,500-meter run at the Michael Johnson Invitational hosted by Baylor Friday night. Sakakini posted his second-best tie of the season in the event, finishing the race with a time of 4:00.35.
On Saturday, Sakakini and Pack both ran at the J. Fred Duckett Twilight hosted by Rice. Pack posted a time of 11.38 in the 100-meter dash to open the day and added a time of 50.79 in the 400-meter dash later in the afternoon, competing in the event for the first this season. Sakakini then competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Saturday evening, recording a time of 9:38.92, breaking his own school record set a week ago. Sakakini holds the best tie in the steeplechase in the ASC this season by more than a minute.
