GLADEWATER, TX (04.26.22) - After a dominant second round on Monday, the No. 21-ranked UT Dallas women's golf team cooled off in Tuesday's final round to finish in third place at the 2022 ASC Championships, held at the Tempest Golf Club.

The Comets closed the event with a school-record 54-hole total of 965, finishing 13 shots behind champion Mary Hardin-Baylor (952). UC Santa Cruz (956) made a charge on the final day to finish second.
UTD kicked the three-day tournament in third place after an opening-round 320 but responded with the lowest round of the day on Monday at 313 to climb into second place with a 36-hole total of 633. The Comets shot 322 in Tuesday's final round.
The Comets placed three golfers in the top seven of the 38-player field with
Maddy Vilven leading the squad in fifth place with a 54-hole total of 236 (76-79-81).
Sofia Trevino finished in sixth place at 237 (82-75-80) and
Karen Alvarez placed seventh at 239 (78-75-86). Both Vilven and Trevino were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Danielle Dimafelix tied for 20th at 253 (84-84-85) and
Lindy Patterson finished in 31st place at 273 (89-92-92).
UMHB's Sarah Kmiecik earned medalist honors with a 54-hole total of 219 (+3) while ETBU's Emily Watson finished a distant second at 229. UCSC's Charlotte Ruhl (232) and Alyssa Yee (235) finished third and fourth, respectively, to complete the All-Tournament Team.
