EL DORADO, ARK. - The UT Dallas women's golf team shot a 322 (+34) in the first round of the Arkansas Collegiate at Mystic Creek Golf Club on Monday.
The Comets sit in sixth place out of 12 teams after the first round. They trail Union (Tenn.) (+17/305), Henderson State (+19/307), Harding (+21/309), Weatherford (+25/313) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (+32/320) and are just ahead of host Southern Arkansas (+38/326).
Freshman
Camilah Porras paced UTD with a 76 (+4) and two birdies and is tied for seventh place. Sophomore
Brooke Yount also sank two birdies and is tied for 13th with a 78 (+6).Â
Syrah Javed is tied for 31st with an 83 (+11) and
Carla van Remmen is tied for 39th after shooting an 85 (+13).
The final round of the Arkansas Collegiate will start Tuesday morning.
