RICHARDSON, Texas - Five student-athletes from the American Southwest Conference champion UT Dallas women's golf team were selected to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team.
Seniors
Karen Alvarez and
Karen Lee, junior
Maddy Vilven, sophomore
Sofia Trevino and freshman
Shreya Krishnan were recognized on the team. Alvarez becomes a three-time recipient of the All-American Scholar Award, while Vilven is selected for the second time.
The Comets posted their most successful season in program history in 2023, winning the squad's second ASC title and three years and placing 14th at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship.
The WGCA recognized 1,401 women's collegiate golfers from 378 programs for the 2022-23 academic year. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
