BROWNWOOD, Texas - The #13 UT Dallas women's golf team leads the American Southwest Conference Championship after one round at the Hideout Golf Club Sunday.
Individually, junior
Sofia Trevino has the lead by three shots after the first 18 holes.
The Comets, who have won two of the last three ASC titles, shot a 296 (+8) and are ahead of Mary Hardin-Baylor (+15), Hardin-Simmons (+26), LeTourneau (+35), Concordia Texas (+36), UC Santa Cruz (+36), East Texas Baptist (+75) and McMurry (+85).
In the play six count four format, UTD had all six golfers in the top 15. Trevino shot a season-low round of 69 (-3), sinking four birdies and only recording a one bogey with 13 pars.
Graduate student
Karen Lee led all players with five pars on the day, shooting a 73 (+1) and tying for third. Sophomore
Mia Gaboriau tied for eighth with a 76 (+4) and sophomore
Shreya Krishnan had other counting score, tying for 11th with a 78 (+6).
With 16 birdies on the day, UTD set a new school record with 199 for the season.
The second of three rounds will tee off Monday morning.
