Zach Sell made program history as he competed at the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship Thursday evening at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
Sell, from, Alamogordo, N.M., finished 20th in the 400-meter hurdle preliminaries with a time of 54.87 seconds. He was the first national qualifier in the Comets' four seasons of competing in track & field.
In his debut season, Sell set the UTD record in the 400 hurdles (52.97), 110-meter hurdles (14.74) and the high jump (1.87 meters/6 ft.-1.5 in.). He finished in the top five in all three events at the American Southwest Conference Championship and earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors.
