FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - UT Dallas freshman
Zach Sell became a national contender in the 400 meter hurdles after his performance at the Arkansas Twilight Friday night.
Sell, from Alamogordo, N.M., finished third against all NCAA Division I competition with a time of 52.97 seconds. He shaved 1.82 seconds of his previous school recorded and moved into 12th on the NCAA Division III leaders list.
The top 22 in an event after May 16 will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Myrtle Beach, S.C. May 23-25.Â

Graeme Maclean finished 30th in the 1,500 meters in 3:57.68.
