GEORGETOWN, Texas - The UT Dallas women's golf team completed the West Region Invitational with a second-place finish Tuesday. Individually, senior
Sofia Trevino took second at Berry Creek Country Club.
The Comets shot a 328-317=645 (+69) to move up a spot in the final round. Trinity (Texas) won the event with a 611 (+35). Host Southwestern (Texas) finished third (662/+86) and Northwestern (Minn.) was fourth (707/+131).
Trevino was six shots off the winner, coming up with a 78-74=151 (+7). Sophomore
Andra Anderson finished fifth with an 81-79=160 (+16) for her highest finish of the season.
Seniors
Danielle Dimafelix and
Maddy Vilven tied for 11th as they both shot an 85-82=167 (+23).
Trevino led the Comets with four birdies, making her school career record 143. Dimafelix sank three birdies and Anderson came up with two.
UTD will wrap up the 2024-25 season at the Bethany College Classic in Newton, Kan. April 7-8.
