Tag Pacot were selected as the Lone Star Conference Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday.
The pair led the Comets to a series win at #13/20/22 Angelo State, taking three of the four games.
Fernandez, from Cypress, Texas, hit .563 (9-for-16) with seven runs scored, two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI. Fernandez was 4-for-5 with four runs and four RBI, including a two-run home run in Saturday's 16-5, seven-inning victory. For the week, he had a 1.063 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage.
Pacot, from Rockwall, Texas, recorded saves in the opener and finale against the Rams. He allowed one walk and struck out one in the ninth inning of Friday's 9-8 victory. Pacot struck out four batters and walked one over three innings in Sunday's 5-1 win. He did not allow a hit or a run over the four innings.
UTD will host UT Permian Basin in a four-game series, beginning at 2 p.m. Friday.
