SAN ANGELO, Texas - The UT Dallas track & field teams broke four school records and won one event on the first two days of the David Noble Relays at LeGrand Stadium Thursday and Friday.
Sophomore
Nick Hofer and junior
JD Koller started things off in the decathlon. Hofer cleared 1.89 meters (6 ft-2.25 in.) and finished fifth in the high jump, breaking his own school record on Thursday. Both competitors tied the pole vault record on Friday, with a 3.55 meters (11 ft.-7.75 in.) height. Hofer ended the decathlon with a second-place finish in the 1,500 meters in 4:35.19. He also broke his own school record in the decathlon by 5,829 points.
Also on Friday, freshman
Anthony Stuart won the 10,000 meters in 33:13.22.
Alan Sutherland was just behind in third place in 33:44.58. Junior
Frank Douglas ran the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 10:38.09, finishing fourth.
For the women, sophomore
Alexia Callahan broke the school record in the 10K by more than five minutes. She placed third in 39:17.16. Senior thrower
Chisom Mbah posted a shot put distance of 10.59 meters (34 ft.-9 in.).
The meet will conclude on Saturday with field and running events starting at 12:30 p.m.
