PUEBLO, Colo. - The UT Dallas men's golf team finished the first day of The Sam Proal in sixth place out of 18 teams at Pueblo Country Club on Monday.

The Comets shot a 292-287=579 (+11) on the par-71 course. They trail #31 Colorado Christian (561/-7), #13 CSU Pueblo (562/-6), #17 West Texas A&M (562/-6), Colorado School of Mines (570/+2) and Hutchinson CC (578/+10).

Senior Tyler Durden led UTD with a 73-67=140 (-2). He is tied for eighth place, making seven birdies and two eagles - both of which came in the second round.

Junior Greg Lewis tied for 18th with a 70-73=143 (+1) with nine birdies and an eagle. Hunter Wolfinger tied for 40th with a 73-74=147 (+5). Banks Tessier shot a 150/+8 and Nick Slobbe recorded a +9/151.

The final round will be played on Tuesday.
