PUEBLO, Colo. - The UT Dallas men's golf team finished in sixth place out of 18 teams at The Sam Proal at Pueblo Country Club on Tuesday.
The Comets shot a 292-287-293=872 (+20) and finished behind #31 Colorado Christian (841/-11), #13 CSU Pueblo (849/-3), #17 West Texas A&M (850/-2), Colorado School of Mines (864/+12) and Hutchinson CC (865/+13). UTD placed ahead of #15 Colorado Mesa and Lone Star Conference foes Lubbock Christian and Western New Mexico.
Senior
Tyler Durden led the Comets by tying for eighth place with a 73-67-71=211 (-2). He also made 10 birdies and two eagles during the tournament. Durden has recorded 12 rounds of par or better this season and picked up his fifth top 10 finish.
Junior
Greg Lewis sank 11 birdies and an eagle over the three rounds. He tied for 38th with a 70-73-78=221 (+8), as did junior
Hunter Wolfinger with a score of 73-74-74=221 (+8).
Nick Slobbe shot a 76-75-71=222 (+9) to tie for 45th and
Banks Tessier tied for 62nd with a 77-73-77=227 (+14).
This was the final tune-up before the LSC Championships in Rockwall, Texas, beginning on April 20.
