Seth Taylor was selected as the Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Taylor, a right-handed starter from Austin, Texas, struck out 10 batters and did not allow an earned run over seven innings to defeat Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road. He scattered five hits and walked just one in the series-opening start. He recorded all three outs in the fifth inning on swinging strikeouts. Taylor has won three of his last four starts.
He is the third Comet hurler to receive Pitcher of the Week honors this season.
UTD will play at Sul Ross State in a four-game series in Alpine, Texas, beginning Friday.Â
