RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas third-year setter/right side
Scarlette Young was named to the Denton Volleyfest All-Tournament Team.
Young, from Sachse, Texas, averaged 2.71 kills, 5.53 assists and 3.06 digs per set while hitting .248. Overall, she recorded 46 kills, 94 assists, four aces, 52 digs and seven blocks.
Young also recorded the first three triple-doubles in program history in 20 years. She started the tournament with 14 kills, 20 assists and 15 digs as the Comets nearly upset #15 Central Oklahoma in five sets. Young also had a triple-double of 13 kills, 31 assists and 21 digs in a five-set loss to Southern Nazarene. She finished the weekend with 10 kills, 14 assists, eight digs and three blocks with a .409 hitting percentage in a sweep of Westminster (Utah).
UTD will compete in the LSC Challenge in Odessa, Texas, against host UT Permian Basin at 6 p.m. Thursday.
