Kimmie Grimes Mug
Eboni Udenza Mug
The win moved UTD's record above the .500 mark for the first time this season (5-5-1, 3-2-1 ASC) and kept the Comets in the upper half of the ASC standings and their post-season hopes alive.

After 72 minutes of back-and-forth action, the Saturday match turned from something that looked like it was heading to overtime into a runaway win for the Comets.

In the 73rd minute, freshman Eboni Udenze, the reigning ASC Offensive Player of the Week, broke open a 0-0 game as she found the back of the net after a crossing pass from sophomore Cassie Lydick. The goal was Udenze's team-leading sixth of the season and the first game-winner of her career.

Leah Bowyer Mug
Andrea Jones Mug
The Comets added two late goals in the final seven minutes to secure the victory. Sophomore Kimmie Grimes, making her first appearances of the season, doubled UTD's lead with her first goal of the year, tapping the ball into a wide open net after consecutive passes from juniors Katie Makanani and Leah Bowyer got the UMHB keeper Erica Harris out of position.

Bowyer then iced the game with her sixth goal of the season, matching Udenze for the team lead, as she tallied after Lydick's shot was knocked down by Harris.

Senior goalkeeper Andrea Jones picked the victory in the pipes for the Comets as she made six saves to keep the Comets in the game early and record her second shutout of the season. UTD held a 17-9 advantage on the Cru in shots taken, but managed just seven shots on goal while UMHB put pressure on Jones on 6 of 9 shots.

UTD returns to action Oct. 8 when the Comets visit Texas Lutheran in Seguin. Game time is 1 p.m.
