Krystal Howard's game-winning penalty kick as the UT Dallas women's soccer team advanced to the semifinals of the American Southwest Conference Tournament with a 4-3 win over Concordia-Texas in shootout. The two teams battled to a scoreless tie after double overtime.

The No. 3-seeded Comets (12-5-2) found themselves on familiar ground after a playoff tie, as UTD was forced to win both its quarterfinal and semifinal contest last fall before falling in the ASC title game. Concordia, the event's No. 6 seed, dropped to 10-6-3 after making the program's first-ever postseason appearance.

Jamie Rheman and Howard each tallied successful kicks for the Comets. Jones made key saves on CTX's third and fourth tries, setting up Howard's game-winning kick that went top left.
Jones made seven saves for the Comets as UTD recorded 11th shutout of the season and advanced to the ASC semifinals for the 11th time overall and for the ninth consecutive year. The Comets have advanced to the league title game seven times, winning the title in 2002.
The Comets had 20 shots as a team, including 10 on goal, compared to just 13 by Concordia, seven of which were on goal. Senior

Emily Hokanson each had three shots. Bowyer led the Comets with three shots on goal.
UTD will face Texas-Tyler in the ASC semifinals 2 p.m. Saturday. The Comets have faced UTT twice previously in the ASC Tournament, including in last year's semifinal round, advancing to the title game a outlasting the Patriots, 11-10, in penalty kicks after a 0-0 stalemate.
