Box Score
ABILENE, TX (11.6.10) – The UT Dallas women's soccer team made its 11th appearance in the American Southwest Conference semifinals in the last 13 years, but the Comets could not overcome an early deficit to advance to a ninth title game after a 2-0 loss to Texas-Tyler.

The Patriots struck first with their first shot of the game as UTT's Kendall Kramer found herself open in front of the Comet net, received a slow cross and scooted her shot past UTD senior goalkeeper Andrea Jones in the 16th minute.

The defense for both teams then clamped down for the rest of the half as the two rivals combined for just seven first-half shots, only two of which was on goal. UT-Tyler held a 5-2 advantage in shots at the break. UTT had one late chance late in the half, but a save by Jones on a shot by the Patriots' Hannah Parcel from in front of the net kept the Comets within arms reach, 1-0.

It took less than four minutes into the second half for the Patriots to double their lead to 2-0 as UTT's Analiz Medina received a corner kick from teammate Lauren Thomas in the 50th minute at the near post and one-timed the ball into the back of the net.

UTD managed just six shots, one shy of a season low, and recorded just one shot on a goal, the lowest tally of the season for Comets. UT Dallas also had just one shot on goal in last season's ASC semifinal game with the Patriots. The Comets advanced last year after a 11-10 count in a shootout. Freshman Eboni Udenze led UTD with two shots while junior Katie Makanani had the Comets' shot on goal, that coming in the 72nd minute. Jones and fellow senior Haley Renfro were both named to the All-Tournament Team.

UT-Tyler (now 14-4) ended he match with 14 shots, four of which were on goal. The Patriots also had an advantage in corner kicks, 6-5.

The Comets dropped to 12-6-2 with the loss and likely saw their season come to a close. UTD is currently ranked No. 5 in the NCAA Division III West Region, but will not learn if the season is extended as the field for the NCAA D-III National Tournament is released Monday morning.
