SENIOR LEAH BOWYER NOW HAS 18 GOALS ON THE SEASON.
Box Score RICHARDSON, TX (10.25.11) - The UT Dallas women's soccer set a new school record with its 10th straight win Tuesday afternoon as the Comets cruised to a 7-0 home win over Ozarks to wrap up American Southwest Conference play.

Leah Bowyer Action
The Comets (now 14-3, 12-1 ASC) finished the game with 47 shots, one shy of a season high, as five different Comets found goal in the victory. Senior forward Leah Bowyer tallied her third hat trick of the season, scoring one before the break and twice in the second half. The three tallies give Bowyer 18 goals on the season to extend her ASC lead.

Bowyer opened the scoring in the 13th minute as she beat Ozarks keeper Morgan O'Neil one-on-one after a pair of passes from Elizabeth Sohns and Katie Makanani. Makanani doubled the UTD lead in the 19th minute on an unassisted goal, made possible when a Lady Eagle deflected a cross by Brittany Ansel. The goal was Makanani's fifth of the season. The Comets' final goal of the opening half came in the 41st minute as Jeri Mills scored the first goal of her collegiate career off a corner kick by Ansel.

The Comets would spend the second half going against gusts up to 30 miles per hour, but still managed to add four more goals. Emily Hokanson extended UTD's lead to 4-0 in the 53rd minute, her second goal of the year, as she collected a rebounded off a long shot by Carli Beckett. Bowyer added her second goal of the game in 63rd minute, taking a cross from the left by Jamie Rheman and a re-direct by Beckett.

Carli Beckett Action
Nicole Frank made it 6-0 in the 64th minute with her third goal of the season as she found the back of the net after a deep cross from Beckett, her third assist of the game. Bowyer's final goal came in the 68th minute on a penalty kick after being taken down in the box.

Comet keeper Brittany Best recorded three saves as Ozarks managed just four shots in the contest. Bowyer led UTD with 13 shots, eight on goal, as she recorded her fifth career hat trick. Hokanson had eight shots, three on goal, and Makanani had six shots.

UTD returns to action Thursday night as the Comets host Centenary in their regular-season finale. Game time is 5 p.m. at the UTD Soccer Field.
