Box Score RICHARDSON, TX (09.22.11) - Despite a 20-3 shot advantage by No. 9-ranked Hardin-Simmons Thursday night, the UT Dallas women's soccer team battled through the final whistle in a 1-0 loss to the Cowgirls in American Southwest Conference play.
After turning away every attempt the Cowgirls mustered for the first 74 minutes of the contest, the Comets gave up the only goal of the night in the 75th minute when HSU defender Christina Hartsfield took a loose ball and dribbled uncontested into the box to drive far post past UTD goalkeeper

The visiting Cowgirls (now 5-1, 3-0 ASC) had 10 shots on goal, compared to just three by UT Dallas. HSU held an 11-2 advantage in shots at the break and held the Comets to just one second-half shot. UTD's lone shot in the second half came in the 86th minute when
Nicole Frank managed a redirect, but Cowgirl keeper Rebecca Roth was there for the save.

Andrea Guevara each tallied first-half shots for the Comets.
The Comets (now 4-3, 2-1 ASC) return to action Saturday afternoon as they host McMurry. Game time is set for 1 p.m. at the UTD Soccer Field.
