Freshman Joey Kron shot a second-round 69 to finish in a tie for 10th place in the two-day, 36-hole event. Kron opened the tournament Monday with a 79 before improving 10 shots on Tuesday for a two-round total of 148. Johnny Begzos finished in 12th place on shot behind Kron at 149 after carding a team-best 72 Monday followed by a 77 on Tuesday. Mark Kreml finished in 21st place at 152 (75-77), Dylan Carroll was 34th at 158 (77-81) and Keaton Kelly finished 47th at 164 (80-84)

Texas-Tyler finished with the team title among the nine squads in the field after shooting a two-round aggregate of 574 (284-290). Louisiana College was second at 586 (295-291) while Schreiner placed third at 603 (308-295). The Comets finished at 607 (303-304). UTT's Matt Stephens finished with medalist honors with a two-round total of 137 (68-69).

The event was originally scheduled for 54 holes, with two rounds slated for Monday and the final round to be played Tuesday. However, after early afternoon strorms Monday, the second round was cancelled and the event was converted to a 36-hole tournament.

The Comets will return to the links Apr. 16-17 for the American Southwest Conference Championships. This year's tournament will be played at Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin.
