Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 RICHARDSON, TX (03.29.13) - The UT Dallas softball team used three innings with eight or more runs to complete a four-game home sweep of Ozarks in American Southwest Conference East Division play Friday afternoon. The Comets earned two five-inning wins, 16-0 and 18-0, to stay in the hunt for their first ASC Tournament appearance since 2005.

The Comets improved to 15-8-1 overall and 6-4 in ASC East play, adding to Thursday's 2-1 and 13-5 wins over Ozarks. UTD returns to action Wednesday with a non-conference doubleheader at Austin College. First pitch is 4 p.m. in Sherman.

The Lady Eagles fell to 10-18 overall and 3-13 in ASC East play after the four losses.

Game 1 - UTD 16, Ozarks 0 (5 innings)
After jumping out to a 7-0 lead through three innings, the Comets used a nine-run 4th frame to separate from Ozarks and earn 16-0 victory to open Friday's doubleheader.

Stephanie Harris sparked the Comet offense with a 3-for-4 performance as UTD collected 13 hits and took advantage of five Lady Eagles errors in the game. UTD scored three runs in each the 1st and 2nd innings and added one run in the 3rd before exploding in the 4th.

The Comets opened the scoring quickly in the 1st with an Ozark error, infield single and three-run home run by Rachel Riley, her first of the year, before recording their first out. UTD added RBI hits by Jordan Bratcher, Harris and Riley in the second to grab a 6-0 lead and Jonelle Feikis' double in the 3rd, scoring Taylor Ervin, for a 7-0 advantage.

In the 4th, Ozarks committed three consecutive errors to open the frame. A run-scoring fielder's choice and back-to-back two-run doubles by Hannah Creech and Ervin gave UTD a 12-0 cushion. After a pitching change, Chelsea Sartor continued the barrage with an infield RBI single, plating Ervin from third base. The Comets then added another run on a Harris single followed by an Ozarks throwing error, allowing Robin Thomas to score. McHugh then added an RBI single and Creech drew a bases-loaded walk to complete the scoring.

Jeni Olbeter (8-5) picked her second win of the series tossing 4.0 scoreless frames while giving up just two hits. She struck out one Lady Eagle and did not issue a walk. Micah Starkey pitched a perfect 5th inning with two strikeouts. Harris scored four runs and an RBI while Riley was 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. McHugh and Ervin also had two-hit games.

Game 2 - UTD 18, Ozarks 0 (5 innings)
The Comets wasted little time to grab a big lead in the series finale, plating 10 runs in the 1st and adding eight runs in the 3rd to secure an 18-0 win over the Lady Eagles.

Ozarks committed eight errors in the game, five of which coming in the 1st, and the Comets collected a season-high 17 hits in the victory. Riley was 4-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored, giving her a 6-for-10 twin bill, while Ervin was 3-for-4 and Bratcher and Harris each added two-hit performances.

In the 1st, the Comets again loaded the bases without an out with a pair of singles and fielder's choice. McHugh then opened the scoring with a double down the left field line, scoring Bratcher and Harris. After an RBI groundout by Brittanie Knowles scoring Riley, Ozarks committed its first error of the frame on a Creech ground ball, allowing McHugh to score. The Lady Eagles then committed back-to-back errors to allow UTD to add a fifth and sixth runs in the frame. Riley then picked up two runs on a single to center and UTD completed the scoring when Harris and Riley scored on the Lady Eagles' fifth error of the inning.

In the 3rd, UTD loaded the bases with two singles and a walk before the Lady Eagles committed their first of two errors in the frame to allow Harris to score on a Sara Navarro ground ball. Aly Hudec then plated Riley with a ground out to shortstop before Erving scored in Margeaux Petrash and Navarro with a double to left. Two batters later, Ervin scored on a fielder's choice followed by Ozarks second error of the inning. UTD then added RBI singles by Riley, Petrash, and Navarro to complete the eight-run frame.

Megan Aragones (3-2) collected her second win of the series as well, giving up just two hits in 4.0 scoreless innings. She struck out three Lady Eagles without a walk. Starkey again tossed a perfect 5th frame, getting three pop ups.
