Jeri Mills to a hard-fought 1-0 win over Rhodes College at the Hardin-Simmons Soccer Complex.

5TH SHUTOUT OF THE SEASON.Mills, a senior from Austin, broke an 0-0 tie in the 73rd minute, cleaning up a loose ball following a
Samantha Huston corner kick and firing it in the net from 15-20 yards out. Huston's corner was batted around by both teams before Mills got a boot on the loose ball.
The goal was Mills' first of the season.

Macaire Ament made the lead stand with a six-save afternoon, including two in the final minutes. The victory was Ament's fifth shutout win of the season.Â
The evenly-played match was knotted at 0-0 throughout the first half and 30 minutes into the second period before UTD broke the stalemate. Rhodes held a slight 13-11 shot advantage, but both teams managed six shots on goal.Â
Mills was the only Comet with more than one shot on goal.
UTD makes a quick return to action, meeting Hendrix College Sunday afternoon at home with a 3 pm start. The game, originally scheduled to be played at HSU, was moved to the UTD campus to give Hendrix a shorter trip home after the 3 pm game.
