The Comets (now 7-1 overall) picked up their third straight victory and their sixth shutout of the season, controlling the match from start to finish. UTD outshot the Lady Eagles (2-8-1, 0-1 ASC) by a 46-0 margin, putting a remarkable 19 shots on goal. Ozarks goalkeeper Mary Eoff was kept busy all afternoon, making 13 saves; but the Comets were able to slip three shots past her in each half to claim the one-sided win.

Seniors Carli Beckett and Alissa Burch each scored twice for UTD while the Comets added a first-time goal from freshman Millie Atkins, and sophomore Andrea Guevara's second tally of the season. Beckett also picked up credit for an assist on Borg's first goal, and senior Sarah Borg was on the other end of both Beckett goals.

Beckett now leads the team with eight goals on the season, and has four assists. Megan Mugavero led the team with six shots while Samantha Huston and Borg each had five. Eliza Carey fired four shots toward the Ozarks end.

Sophomore Kristi Istre picked up her first start of the season and went the distance, but did not face a shot on goal all afternoon.

UTD wasted little time taking control of the match. Beckett started the scoring just 6:48 in with a redirect of a Borg crossing shot after the keeper came out to challenge. Just eight minutes later, Burch picked up a through ball up the middle from Beckett and beat Eoff with a shot to the lower right corner. Atkins got her first collegiate goal just before halftime, punching in a rebound off an Eliza Carey shot to give the Comets a 3-0 lead at the break.
Just seven minutes into the second period, Beckett renewed the attack, flicking in another Borg crossing shot. Burch then maneuvered herself free about 30 yards in front of the net, and fired a rocket over the head of the Lady Eagle defense in the 61st minute. Guevara tacked on the final goal with a diagonal shot that found the corner of the net at 68:20

The Comets return to their home field Thursday evening to continue ASC play against LeTourneau and former coach John Antonisse.
