ABILENE, TX (10.13.18) - The UT Dallas cross country programs returned to action after two weeks off Saturday morning as the Comet men and women recorded second place finishes at the Bill Libby Invitational, hosted by McMurry.The meet was held on the campus of Abilene Christian University and served as a preview for the conference championships later this month.

Junior
Hollee Ratliff won the women's six-kilometer race, finishing the course in a time of 26:46. Katherina Merola joined Ratliff in the top 10, placing eighth overall in a time of 28:16.
Sara Hartke was the Comets' third finisher in 14th place at 28:52 while
Patricia Mathu placed 19th at 30:03.
Brittany Parga finished 21st for the Comets at 30:29 while
Gina Fossati placed 22nd at 30:42.
Host McMurry claimed the women's team title with 36 points while UTD came in second with 58 points among a field primarily composed of ASC teams. East Texas Baptist was third at 88 points while LeTourneau (100) was fourth, Louisiana College (117) fifth, Concordia Texas (125) sixth, Sul Ross State (178) seventh and Schreiner (193) eighth. There were 58 competitors in the women's race.
On the men's side, the Comets placed three runners in the top 10 as they also collected a second place team finish. Freshman
Cannon Leavitt again paced the UTD men, finished third overall in the 68-runner field, recording a time of 31:11 in the eight-kilometer race.
Andres Uriegas was one spot behind in fourth place at 31:42 while
Trent Sakakini was ninth at 32:43.
Alireza Nourani placed 14th in a time of 33:05, while
Christian Kondor was 18th at 33:56 and
Nathan Musial was 19th at 33:56.
Western Texas claimed the men's team title with 38 points while UTD was just 10 points behind in second place. East Texas Baptist was third with 87 points, LeTourneau (99) fourth, host McMurry (115) fifth, Concordia Texas (184) sixth, Schreiner (205) seventh, Sul Ross State (217) eighth and Louisiana College (228) ninth.
The Comets will not return to action until the ASC Championships, slated for Saturday, Oct. 27, in Abilene.
