BURKBURNETT, TX (09.28.18) - The UT Dallas men's and women's cross country programs competed in their third meet of the fall Friday night as the two teams ran at the Red River Shootout, hosted by Midwestern State.
MEN'S RESULTS | WOMEN'S RESULTS
The Comet men finished third out of the six competing squads while the UTD women came recorded a sixth-place finish. After a weekend off, the Comets will return to action Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Bill Libby Invitational hosted by McMurry in Abilene.
Freshman
Cannon Leavitt placed third out of 61 runners in the men's eight-kilometer race, completing the course in a season-best time of 26:10.
Andres Uriegas placed 18th for the Comets at 27:39 while
Trent Sakakini was 19th at 27:57.
John Gabriel added a 23rd place finish for the Comets with a time of 28:19 while
Chris Reyna completed the UTD scoring in 27th place at 28:41.
Cameron took the team title with 28 points ahead of second place Oklahoma Christian with 52 points. UTD had 90 points for third place. Cameron's James Majenge won the race with a time of 25:54.
On the women's side,
Hollee Ratliff was the Comets' pacesetter with a 23rd place finish in the five-kilometer event with a time of 21:53. Katherina Merola was second on the squad and 32nd overall at 22:34 while
Sara Hartke placed 34th at 22:48.
Gina Fossati placed 43rd at 23:30 while
Genna Campain was 47th at 23:56.
