ABILENE, TX (11.02.19) - The UT Dallas women's cross country placed second at the American Southwest Conference Championships Saturday morning, hosted by McMurry at the ACU Cross Country Course.

Freshman
Elizabeth Chimitt led the Comets with a third-place finish individually, earning both first team All-ASC recognition as ASC Freshman of the Year honors. Chimitt completed the six-kilometer course in a time of 23:40.
Brittany Parga also claimed first team All-ASCÂ distinction placing seventh overall with a time of 23:55 while
Julie Bull was finished 12th with a time of 24:34, earning second team All-ASC honors.
Gina Fossati placed 19th at 25:14,
Sara Hartke 24th at 25:32,
Katherine Merola 26th at 25:41 and
Rachel Kahler 28th at 25:48. Fossati was also honored as the ASC's Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.
Hardin-Simmons won the team title with 42 points with the Comets finishing with 63 points. Mary Hardin-Baylor was third with 84 points. HSU's Sydney Tencate won the individual race with a time of 22:29.
Next up for the Comets is the NCAA Division III Regional Championships, held Nov. 16, in Memphis, Tenn.
