ABILENE, TX (10.16.21) - The UT Dallas men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the regular season Saturday morning by racing at the Bill Libby Invitational, hosted by McMurry at the ASC Cross Country Course.

The Comet men claimed their third team title of the fall while the UTD women earned a third-place finish in the squad's first six-kilometer race of the season. Both squads will now prepare for the ASC Championships, set for Saturday, Oct. 30, in Clarksville, Ark.
On the men's side, the Comets placed four runners among the top 10 finishers as UTD won the 12-team race with a point total of 30.
Trent Sakakini paced the Comets with a second place finish in a time of 26:33.9 while
Devan Bailey was less than a second behind in third place at 26:34.3.
Griffin Davis placed sixth at 26:54.8 and
Jayden Chambless was seventh at 27:08.6.
Andres Uriegas completed the Comets scorers with a time of 27:26.9 in 13th place while
Ethan Conville was 15th at 27:51.3 and
John Youssef was 22nd at 28:20.4.
Maddie Ellis and
Madylin Herrera placed seventh and eighth, respectively, to spark the Comets to a third-place finish among the field of six women's teams. Ellis finished the meet with a time of 24:27.4 while Herrera recorded a time of 24:28.1.Â
Mackenzie Salmonson completed the course in 25:58.4 for 17th place,
Elizabeth Chimitt placed 22nd at 26:32.6 and
Hannah Bennett completed the Comet scoring in 23rd place at 26:36.4.
Jocelyn Heckenkamp placed 39th at 28:57.6.Â
