SAN ANTONIO, TX (10.02.21) - After taking a weekend off, the UT Dallas men's and women's cross country team returned the course Saturday morning to compete at the Incarnate Word Invitational, held at Olmos Park.
The Comet men placed ninth out while the UTD women finished in 10th place. Both squads will next race in Abilene on Oct. 16 as the Comets compete at the Bill LIbby Invitational, hosted by McMurry.
On the men's side,
Griffin Davis was the Comets' top finished as he placed 43rd with a time of 27:21.2 in the eight-kilometer race.
Ethan Conville placed 49th at 27:36.4,
Devan Bailey 51st at 27:40.5,
Andres Uriegas 58th at 28:01.0 and
Jayden Chambless 67th at 28.24.6. The Comets finished the meet with 229 points.
For the women,
Madylin Herrera paced the Comets with a time of 19:49.1 in the five-kilometer race.
Rebecca Betanzo placed 65th at 21:05.5,
Mackenzie Salmonson 66th at 21:06.5,
Hannah Flake 82nd at 22:09.0 and
Jocelyn Heckenkamp 87th at 23:47.7. The Comet women tallied 286 points.
