RICHARDSON, TX (11.01.21) - The UT Dallas women's soccer team will open its 20th consecutive trip to the ASC Championship Tournament Tuesday with a 4 p.m. road game at Hardin-Simmons in Abilene in the event quarterfinals.

The Comets enter the postseason with a 10-7 overall record and will serve as the No. 8 seed in the tournament with a 4-6 league record. UTD will be making its 22nd all-time appearance in the ASC Tournament in the 25-year history of the program and have advanced to at least the semifinals each of the last 19 seasons.
UTD is 16-18-8 all-time in the ASC Tournament, winning the league title outright in 2002 and sharing the crown in 2004. The Comets have faced HSU on 14 previous occasions in the ASC Tournament with a 1-11-2 all-time tournament record against the Cowgirls. UTD's lone postseason victory over the Cowgirls came in the 2002 league title game.
The Comets enter the postseason ranked third in the ASC in goals (42), assists (29), points (113) and shots taken (264).
Sierra Foster ranks fifth in the ASC with eight goals scored this fall while teammates
Keely Fillman,
Rana Hussein and
Sofia Munoz are all tied for ninth with six goals apiece. Munoz is tied for second in the league with seven assists while Foster is tied for fourth with six assists. Foster (22) is third in the league in points and Munoz (19) is tied for fifth.
Defensively, UTD ranks sixth in the league in both goals allowed (20) and team goals against average (1.15) with eight shutouts, the fifth-highest total in the ASC this fall. Comet keeper
Mariana Gonzalez has four shutouts and a 1.39 goals against average.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students for the game in Abilene. Per ASC policy, no pets are allowed except for service animals.
