A native of Brighton, Colo., Kropp becomes just the third men's golf All-American in Comet history and the fourth UTD student-athlete to garner All-America status for the 2020-21 academic year. Last month, Kropp was one of five golfers from the American Southwest Conference to be listed on the 15-man All-West Region Team and is one of just three golfers from the league to be honored as an All-American this spring, joined by McMurry's Brendon Lowrence and Lane Roye on the third team.
There were nine golfers listed on each of the three GCAA All-America Teams with 21 student-athletes earning honorable mention recognition.
Kropp led the Comets with a school-record 73.77 scoring average through 13 rounds this spring, sparking UTD to its best finish at the ASC Championships since 2004. After missing the 2020 season due to injury, he battled back to close out his career with a second-place finish at the 2021 ASC Championships in April, earning All-Tournament honors at the event. Kropp was later tabbed first team All-ASC.
After the 2004 season, former Comets Scott Maurer and Peyton Cook were named GCAA All-Americans. Maurer was a first team selection while Cook earned second team honors that spring.
