RESULTS
MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas women's cross country team took fourth place at the American Southwest Conference Championships on the campus of East Texas Baptist University Saturday morning.
The Comets had 90 points, finishing behind champion McMurry (34), Mary Hardin-Baylor (79) and East Texas Baptist (89) in the eight-team field.
Pacing UTD was sophomore Sage Herrera, who finished in sixth place with a time of 24:16.1 on the 6K course. She earned All-ASC First Team honors for the second time.
Sophomore Rebeca Betanzo ran a personal best 24:38.0 to finish ninth and garner a Second Team selection.
The Comets took 26th, 27th, 28th, 31st and 32nd places by Hannah Edwards (26:32.1), Abby Valdez (26:45.9), Jocelyn Heckenkamp (26:45.9),
Elizabeth Chimitt (27:17.2) and
Rachel Kahler (27:20.8), respectively. Heckenkamp's time was a personal record.
UTD will race again at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championships in Spokane, Wash. on November 12.
