KINGWOOD, TX (03.01.22) - The UT Dallas men's golf placed second at the NCAA D-III Lidlifter, hosted by the Comets at the Clubs of Kingwood.

The Comets posted the best round of the day on Tuesday, but still finished two shots back of No. 18-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor for the team title. UMHB finished the 36-hole event at 576 (280-296) with the Comets closing out the tournament at 578 (288-290). East Texas Baptist was in third at 586, Dallas fourth at 598, Millsaps fifth at 600, Hardin-Simmons sixth at 611 and Howard Payne seventh at 619.
Davis Archer paced the Comets at the event, placing second individually with a two-day total of139 (70-69).
Ryan Kropp, Monday's UTD leader, finished in fourth place at 143 (69-74) while
Jared Harvey tied for 10th at 148 (74-74).
Cade Eldridge tied for 13th at 150 (75-75),
Daniel Shofner tied for 16th at 141 (78-73) and
Advait Chutke tied for 29th at 157 (79-78).
UMHB's Andrew Baucum earned medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 137. Baucum shot a nine-under 63 on Monday and closed the event with a 74 to hold off Archer by two shots. ETBU's Kip Childress was third at 140.
The Comets return to the links Mar. 19-20 when they host the Texas Cup at the Courses at Watters Creek in Plano.
