GRANBURY, TX (05.01.22) - After a highly competitive final round, the nationally ranked UT Dallas men's golf team closed the 2022 ASC Championships in fourth place. This year's event was played at Nutcraker Golf Club.

The Comets fired a third-round 302 on Sunday to slip one spot after sitting in third place after 36 holes. UTD opened the tournament with a first-round 295 on Friday, sitting in second place after the first 18 holes, and posted a 302 in Saturday's second round.
The field for the 2022 NCAA D-III National Championships will be announced on Monday at www.ncaa.com. The Comets entered the ASC Tournament ranked No. 15 in Golfstat and No. 17 in the GCAA Coaches' Poll. UTD will look to secure one of the nine at-large berths into the national tournament.
Freshman
Jarrett Grinnel paced the Comets over the weekend with a 54-hole total of 222 (72-76-74), placing eighth overall.
Davis Archer gave the Comets a second top-10 finished, tying for 10th place at 224 (73-77-74).
Ryan Kropp closed the tournament tied for 14th at 226 (76-72-78),
Jared Harvey (74-77-83) and
Daniel Shofner (78-80-76) tied for 27th at 234, and
Cade Eldridge tied for 31st at 235 (76-77-82). There were 53 golfers in the field.
No. 10-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor claimed its second straight and ninth overall ASC title with a 54-hole total of 885. LeTourneau finished in second place just one shot back at 886 while Concordia Texas posted the lowest round of the tournament on Sunday (289) to climb into third place at 896.
The Comets finished one stroke better than fifth place East Texas Baptist (900) while Howard Payne was sixth at 904. McMurry finished seventh at 932, Hardin-Simmons eighth at 941 and Belhaven ninth at 981.
