RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas sophomore Sofia Trevino was named the American Southwest Conference Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday.

She tied for third with a 148 (+4), only two shots behind the medalist, at the DIII National Preview in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. and recorded the best round of her career on Monday, shooting an even 72 with five birdies. Trevino's round was the eighth best in program history and her total score was tied for fourth. Her performance helped the #20 Comets take second place in the tournament that featured nine of the 18 teams in the top 25.

The Comets will be back on the course on October 3 at the Tempest Intercollegiate in Gladewater, Texas.
