ABILENE, Texas - The UT Dallas men's cross country team won its league title in the last seven seasons at the 2023 American Southwest Conference Championships at the Abilene Christian University Cross Country Course Saturday morning.
The Comets recorded 36 points - their lowest total at the conference meet - finishing ahead of McMurry (66), Concordia Texas (73), LeTourneau (80), East Texas Baptist (143), Ozarks (160), Mary Hardin-Baylor (204) and Hardin-Simmons (204). UTD also won the crown in 2018, 2019 and 2020-21.
Senior
Graeme Maclean was the runner-up individually, covering the 8K course in 25:38.9. He was the medalist last season and has earned All-ASC First Team honors for the third time.
Sophomore
Christopher Castro joined Maclean on the First Team by placing fifth in 26:16.3.
Frank Douglas earned Freshman of the Year and All-ASC First Team with a time of 26:25.1 and finishing in seventh. Douglas is the fourth ASC Freshman of the Year in program history.
Freshman
Zach Johnson was 10th overall, earning an All-ASC Second Team spot with a time of 26:37.0 Senior
Devan Bailey finished 12th in 26:42.9 and earned Second Team honors for the third time.
Senior John Youseff and junior
Matthew Chimitt also placed in the top 20, taking 17th and 18th, respectively.
Head coach
Danielle Kcholi was selected for the Coaching Staff of the Year for the fourth time. Joining her on the staff are assistant

Trent Sakakini.
The Comets will compete at the NCAA Division III West Regional in Riverside, Calif. on Saturday, November 11.
