BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The #9 UT Dallas men's golf team tied for ninth at the DIII National Preview at Boulder Creek Golf Club Tuesday.
The Comets had their best round on Tuesday with -2 and tallied a 315-293-286=894 for +30 overall. Top-ranked Methodist ran away with the tournament, shooting a -14. They were followed by #3 Carnegie Mellon (+11), #16 Washington and Lee (+12), #2 Emory (+12) and #3 Illinois Wesleyan (+13) in the prestigious 18-team field.
Cole Wiley led the Comets by tying for 27th and shooting a 75-72-75=222 for a +6.
Andrew Chow was just behind with a +7 80-74-69=223, tying for 30th.
Sophomore
Tyler Durden shot the second-lowest round three across the field, ending up with an 88-74-67=229 and tying for 53rd with a +13.
Parker McCurdy also tied for 53rd with an 81-73-75=229.
Daniel Shofner tied for 71st with a 79-77-77=233 (+17).
Wiley tied for the most pars of the tournament with 39. Chow was tied for third with 15 birdies and McCurdy recorded an eagle.
This tournament wraps up the fall season for UTD.
