KINGWOOD, Texas - UT Dallas sophomore
Andrew Chow tied for the tournament title and the Comets finished in second by two strokes as they opened the 2023 spring season at the Lidlifter at the Clubs of Kingwood.
Chow shot a 69-76=145, for a +1 score, tying with LeTourneau's Kaiden Schneider for the top spot. Chow led the field with nine birdies over 36 holes. Freshman
Tyler Durden tied for fifth place with a +4, 78-70=148. He was one of five players to eagle a hole.
Sophomore
Daniel Shofner was tied for 12th, shooting a 73-78-151 (+7). Sophomore
Cole Wiley and senior
Hudson Hicks each fired a 76-77=153 (+9) to tie for 16th.
LeTourneau, who is ranked #10/11 in the nation, had a two-round score of 601 (+25). The #12/13 Comets were just behind in second with a 296-307=603 (+27). Hardin-Simmons was third at 615 (+39) and the UTD B squad was fourth in the 11-team field with a 314-302=616 (+40).Â
The Comets will be back in action on March 19-20 when they host the Texas Cup at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson.
